For a uniformly illuminated object, if a surface area of one square meter receives one lumen of luminous flux, the illuminance is one lux (lx); thus, the illuminance produced on the surface of a sphere with a radius of one meter, centered on a light source with an intensity of one international candle, is defined as one lux.

1) The illuminance intensity of municipal solar LED street lights is determined by the light source's power and design, as well as the distance to the illuminated surface. Higher luminous intensity results in higher illuminance; a shorter distance also results in higher illuminance.
2) The illuminance value on the surface of an object illuminated by municipal solar LED street lights also depends on the angle of the projected light. The closer the light projection is to the vertical, the higher the illuminance.
3) The inverse-square law of illuminance for municipal solar LED street lights: assuming the light source remains constant, the illuminance on a surface illuminated perpendicularly is inversely proportional to the square of the distance from the light source.
Brightness of municipal solar LED street lights: Brightness represents the intensity of light emitted from an object's surface. Whether the surface emits its own light, reflects light, or transmits light, it is considered a luminous surface if light emanates from it. Luminous intensity per unit area defines the surface brightness. For the same luminous surface, brightness values vary depending on the viewing direction; brightness is typically measured in a direction perpendicular to the line of sight. The unit of brightness is the nit (nt), where 1 nit = 1 candela per square meter.
1) If luminous intensity remains constant, a smaller projected area of the luminous surface results in higher brightness, while a larger projected area results in lower brightness.
2) Higher reflectivity results in higher brightness. Under the same illumination from municipal solar LED street lights, white and black objects exhibit different surface brightness levels due to differing reflectivity and capabilities for reflecting or absorbing light; an object's reflection coefficient is always less than 1.
3) The concept of brightness regarding municipal solar LED street lights encompasses both actual brightness and visual brightness. Visual brightness refers to brightness as perceived by the visual senses; under low-light conditions, the aim is to provide a level of brightness that feels comfortable to the viewer. In other words, it leverages human visual physiology to create a specific visual effect based on actual physical brightness.
